Yes, you can bake an egg in the air fryer. You'll need a ramekin or a small, oven-safe dish. It's fast. It's easy. You'll be eating a hot breakfast in minutes. You also can dress up the egg in a variety of ways. My choice often is to include a bit of bacon and cheese with the egg. There's not much to the recipe, really. As I said, it's easy! So, if you're tired of oatmeal for breakfast, craving a hit of protein, or just looking for something different, try this (sort of) recipe. And feel free to experiment!
Air Fryer Five Minute Bacon and Egg Marvel -- Makes 1
1 large egg
Salt and pepper
Dash of onion powder
1/4 teaspoon of whatever herbs you like, if you want
1/2 tablespoon of bacon crumbles (from the big bag from Costco is just fine)
1 teaspoon of grated Parmesan cheese
2-3 teaspoons of milk (or cream, if you want to be fancy)
Spritz a ramekin with non-stick cooking spray. Break the egg into the ramekin and sprinkle the egg with a little salt and pepper, onion powder, and herbs if you like. Sprinkle on the bacon crumbles and the Parmesan. Dribble the milk over the top of the cheese. Put the ramekin in the air fryer and set the control at 320 degrees. Cook the egg for 4-9 minutes, depending on how well cooked you like your egg--i.e., runny, sort of firm, or hard in the middle. Remove the ramekin from the air fryer, tip the egg out onto a plate, and enjoy!
