Air Fryer Short on Time Strawberry-Goat Cheese Strudels

This is the dessert--or breakfast treat--you need to make when you are pressed for time and ingredients. You need three basic ingredients for these strudels: strawberry jam, goat cheese crumbles, and a tube of crescent roll dough. A little sugar and cinnamon to dust the strudels with before baking them is nice but not essential. The little strudels, despite the short list of ingredients are quite good--sweet, tangy from the goat cheese, and surrounded by a soft, fragrant dough. No one will care that you didn't spend hours making the strudels. The strudels really are delicious! No goat cheese on hand? No problem. Substitute a little softened cream cheese, spreading the cream cheese on the dough before spreading on the jam. No, it won't be quite the same (or as good, in my view), but it will work and still be tasty.

Air Fryer Strawberry-Goat Cheese Strudels -- Makes 2 Mini Strudels

1 tube of crescent roll dough (8 or 4 rolls)

2 tablespoons of strawberry jam, softened in the microwave if cold

2 tablespoons of goat cheese crumbles

Sugar (optional, but good)

Cinnamon (optional, but good)

Cut two pieces of baking parchment about 6-7-inches square (to fit in your air fryer basket). Unroll the crescent roll dough. If you have a can of 8 rolls, roll up and bake 4 of the rolls for dinner while you make the strudels (or double the ingredients and make more strudels)! Seal the perforations between the crescents and separate the dough into 2 pieces. Spread a tablespoon of jam on each piece. Sprinkle a tablespoon of goat cheese crumbles on top of the jam on each dough piece. Roll up the dough, starting at a long side, jelly-roll fashion. Pinch the ends of the dough rolls closed. Place one dough roll, seam side down, on each of the parchment pieces. Moisten your hands with water and glide your hands over each dough roll, moistening each and shaping the rolls up a bit if they're uneven. One or two of the perforations may open a little or be weak. That's okay. Just leave them, unless they're really gaping. Sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon over each of the moistened dough rolls, if you'd like. Spritz the dough rolls with a bit of non-stick cooking spray (it keeps the cinnamon-sugar in place). Bake the rolls, one-at-a-time, at 320 degrees for 7-12 minutes or until the strudels are golden brown. Let the strudels cool a few minutes before eating them or serve them at room temperature.
